Re: Sega Based Systems

Did anyone have any luck remapping the default controller buttons for Genesis in Mame?

I tried mapping through the DA menu so ABC is XAB on the DA controller. When I get into the games, X=C, A=A, and B=B. I fixed it temporarily through the Mame menu, but it doesn’t stick.

Any ideas?

Re: Favorites

Dragging out an old post, but did anyone figure out how to get the favorites working? I can mark games as favorite by holding start, but it doesn’t keep it through a menu restart. I’m not great with xml, but I might be able to figure it out. It’s almost like a key file is write protected, so changes...

Re: Sega CD and Turbo CD support?

I get the same thing running Lunar 2. Personally I have the bin and cue in a zip file, which I believe is the problem. I haven’t tried unzipping them yet.

I think the Dreamcade gets into the zip file, but then tries to run the bin through Fusion instead of the cue.

Re: Genesis games giving country of Origin error

I was able to find a few posts on this. It stems from mame accurately emulating a specific system, whereas we just want it to play the roms. https://www.reddit.com/r/MAME/comments/3i9whb/do_i_need_a_bios_to_use_sega_genesis_roms_in/ There is a different command line to run as genesis (vs megadriv or...

Re: 4tb internal

It’s the height/thickness of the drive, not the length and width, if that makes sense.

Re: Nintendo Based Systems

I used a keyboard to get out of full screen and mapped load/save states and fast forward from the snes9x menus. I don’t remember what button I pressed (alt-enter, tab, or escape seem likely).

Re: Add game feature not working

Try waiting a little longer after clicking the download link. Your issue may be caused by the download getting cut short. The amount of time to wait will be dependent on the size of the game and you Internet speed. I’ve had good results waiting 20-30 seconds. A while back there was talk of working o...

Re: Mame arcade help

I had luck deleting (backup before you delete stuff!) the “custom” config folder within the controller folder. I’m not home, so not sure of the exact path. /main/_d/controllers/ or something like that. There are defaults for specific controllers, but when you remap from the front end it creates a un...

This won’t help directly but I’m sharing my experience so those that know the back end better might be able to.

After installing Steam on my Replay, the front end recognized it and added an item. I did not have to use the “Add” feature.
