I wanted to bump the last post date because I added a few things. Thanks to everyone who read the FAQ

Its not all about looks its about lag with original hardware. Mike Tyson's Punch out is nearly impossible to beat on a non CRT. as we keep getting near perfect emulation they will slowly disappear for good but i think that's still like 10 years away. Mainly the purists have to stop caring lol. Plus in a few more years CRTs will all begin to die and no one will be able to fix them.Steve wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 4:57 pmI would be interested to see how many people still have a CRT in their household. I can remember moving a family members old 32" TV that was one and jeez was that thing heavy.
I saw an article that said in a survey 41 percent of households have at least 1 CRT monitor while 21 percent say they are still using one. That said, that article is 4 years old now.
Here's a more recent article about CRTs

I would argue there are ways to get an LCD to look very similar but then again people go to great lengths for authenticity
I would use HDMI. If you use VGA you will also need an audio cable as VGA only supports video.GEEKCHEAPLY wrote: ↑Sun Jul 08, 2018 9:49 pmMy Plasma 50 inch TV has HDMI and VGA inputs. Which should I use?
its a windows PC so I would imagine the skys the limit. But, I am not 100% sure just my thought.NIVO wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 5:37 pmOne thing I dont see in the FAQ and may be important to alot of folks is the max supported micro sd card slot. As these have come down in price alot, they have much larger capacity and would be nice to know max supported size before a purchasing mistake. Thanks.
This. I have tried a 128GB USB 3.0 drive to transfer files over and have had no issue. The only limitation I know of is that the HDD in the bay can only be up to 2TB according to the specs, and I don't have anything higher to test it with.
That might be the Virtual Mouse program causing problems. If you can I would plug in a keyboard and mouse to navigate Windows. For your controller issues I would make sure you are on the latest front end update as this fixes some controller issues. Then you might have to rebind your controller again. It is a little figidity sometimes. It took me two or three rebinds to get it right.
So I restarted the mini pc and now it seems that only two buttons that work in dreamcade app are forward and back. no directional buttons work. I'm stuck on the "favorites" menu item so I can just keep pressing select to "find installed games" until windows pops up. The controller works fine as a mouse as long as the window is open (can't see mouse pointer when hovering over the app though). if I close the box to go back to the app, still only the two buttons working.WheatPasta wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 12:42 amFor your controller issues I would make sure you are on the latest front end update as this fixes some controller issues.
