Has anyone discovered the cofig to boot up to windows
I merged your posts with this other thread. As mentioned you would have to modify a registry setting by hand if doing it right through Windows. Give the program posted above a try and see if it does what you need.
Thanks. Sorry for making another topic, I didn't realize there was already one !!

.....
Okay lets knock out one thing at a time here.
First here is matt's post regarding the registry.

"It is actually done in the registry. If you are familiar with registry editing, then you can change it here:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\
Edit the key for Userinit: remove c:\windows\system32\runMenu.bat,

If you have never edited the registry before then I would strongly advise against it, because of the risk of damaging critical values."-matt

Yeah that sounds like something I would F@#$ up. I'll wait it out.

ah thats the location..
its simpler to just rename the file, rather than edit registry
if registry can't find file it can't autolaunch replay.
thanks.

Not sure if you're still trying to figure it out or not, but I found out how to keep the replay app from autolaunching...

edit this file: (notepad is fine)

c:\windows\system32\runmenu.bat

There is a "start runasadmin.exe" command in there. Just put rem infront of it and save the file. No longer launches at startup... easy. To auto start it again, just take the remark back out of the file... No registry modification required.

so i got that airmouse
but having trouble
how do you use it to turn on/off the dreamcade?
i physically have to walk to the gadget and hit the power button which 'wakes' it up from sleep - there is NO option to power it down, in power management only option oddly enough is to sleep

what i hate about sleep is, when you wake it up it takes you to the lockscreen where it asks for a password

if you are sharing a folder across network - windows requires a mandatory password if said folder is read/write.....this is how i copy files to it from my other computers where i keep my movies.

upon wake up it wants a password but if i use the airmouse to enter my password it will always fail but if i use wired keyboard no problem.

i wish there was a way to wake up the PC and not have to enter password on lockscreen. i dont think theres a way round this

I don't think there is a way to turn the Replay off and on itself. To get around this I would perhaps leave it on, and then go to your screen saver set it to come on and make sure the log in screen box is unchecked.

On a side note I have not used a screen saver since Windows 98. I even forgot they were a thing until you first asked. Not only have I used one for the first time in about 16 years I found the 3D pipes one, and it still works. so that was pretty exciting.

I’m a PC noob. What do you mean by “rename the file?”

I’m a Mac user, this is my first use of a PC in years.

Sorry for being so confused

I believe he meant to go to
c:\windows\system32\runMenu.bat
and rename runMenu.bat to rerunMenu.bat
