PSX .pbp multi disc games

Post by Pillows » Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:29 am

How do I change to the next disc?

For example, I am playing a Final Fantasy 9 .pbp

Correct me if I am wrong but the pbp files should contain all discs. If so how do I switch to the next disc using the replay?

I was not sure myself, but after looking around a little it seems that ETAPrime did a video about it here. He is doing it on a RetroPie, and the video is a little older. However I would imagine the steps are similar since RetroPie uses RetroArch.

One solution is
1. Press ESC
2. Change Disc > Click "ISO" if a File [or] Click "CDROM" if a Disc
3. Choose Disc to switch to

Or

Save before Disc Switching [Look up Online & Save Frequently]
1. Press ESC
2. File > Change Disc > Click "ISO" if a File [or] Click "CDROM" if a Disc
3. Choose Next Disc [You will get a Black Screen]
4. Shutdown ePSXe
5. Run the "Next" Current Disc [Same as Before]
6. Load the Save file from the Previous Disc in-game
7. Enjoy Playing

These references I pulled from Emulator Zone forum
"There is no Replay! Only Zuul!"

Here is what worked for me:

Opened ePSXe in the emulators folder.
Clicked file > run iso
Then I located my FF9.pbp rom. When I selected it I was prompted to choose a disc. Selected disc 2 and voila disc 2 begins.
