What keyboard and/or mouse do you recommend to use with the Replay?
I have been using a Logitech K400 PlusIf you just need to navigate the 17 dollar keyboard you posted should be okay. If you plan on streaming Steam to your Replay I would invest in a full size keyboard and regular mouse. It does not have to be as good as your regular set up, but at least my K400 can get get my hands cramping if I try to do much gaming on it.

On an unrelated note I am currently using a Razer Black Widow and Death Adder on my main PC. They are a bit old, and I am looking to replace them in a few months with a Logitech set up. I'll have to do a little more research, but I was just curious how is yours holding up in general?
Thanks

Trackball for Arcade game recommendations

Post by enad2k » Tue Aug 14, 2018 2:57 pm

Hi,

So is there a recommendation out there for a trackball to use specifically for Arcade games? Games that I cant hink of that use trackballs specifically are millipede and centipede. I think even games like marble madness might have even used a trackball.

Anyway, not looking to break the bank but something that would be not too hard to get mame to use from the Dreamcade Front End and give a somewhat nice close to arcade experience. I would think even a couple buttons may be needed depending on the action buttons the various emulated games use. Actions like Fire and the like.

This Amazon answer mentions it uses Bluetooth. If that is the case then as long as it uses X input it should work fine.

Where to buy Replay controller?

Post by mrmars » Mon Oct 29, 2018 7:36 pm

Does anyone know where i can purchase a second Replay controller?

I pre-ordered the single controller configuration and now I want a second controller so i can play with friends. Being that the Replay is no longer on sale i'm unsure of how to acquire one.

Any suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated.

You might be able to order one through the store link here

You might also want to check Amazon for similar looking controllers. Like this one here that looks similar and mentions that is uses Bluetooth so you won't have to occupy a USB port with another 2.4GHZ dongle since each Replay controller needs its own USB dongle.

If you look near the bottom of the amazon page at similar listings you can use them to gather reviews on the similar models under different names and see if one is slightly better then the other, but i imagine that the Amazon page controller and the Replay controller are roughly the same.

Always so helpful Wheatpasta. Thanks man!

The reason i specifically want a Replay controller is because of how easily it syncs with the system. I haven't had a single issue with it connecting or staying connected when in use.

I assume the controllers you mentioned would need to be configured but i'm concerned i'll have to constantly pair and bind every time i boot up.

Am i just being paranoid?

You got it

Your concerns are justified. I recently picked up a Steel Series Stratus XL with Bluetooth and it is a headache. Although while trying to look for help to get it sorted it seems like quite a few people are having problems with different Steel Series products in general.

That being said I believe the ease of pairing comes from two points. One it is using a 2.4 Ghz dongle, and the second is that it is using Xinpuit I believe if you find a controller that does the same you should be 99% okay, and if you buy from Amazon and it does not work you should be able to return it.

On a side note if anyone knows a decent controller that is Bluetooth, works with Windows, Linuix, and is around 30 or so dollars please give me an idea what to look at it seems like I can only find either cheaper feeling 10-15 dollar ones, the Steel Series which has issues, and the Xbox One Bluetooth controller which is a little more then i'd like to spend on one as they seem to be 45-50 if not more, and when buying through Amazon I am not sure if I will get an older non Bluetooth version or not.

Bump because Amazon has Logitech products for deal of the day including the K400 Plus here for 18 dollars. A good price for a great two in one to navigate the Replay.

If you are looking to do a bit of gaming I would invest in a full sized keyboard, but the Plus works well to get you signed in and around

EDIT
BestBuy now has some of the same Logitech products on sale for around the same price for early Black Friday. You can find the list here
